Just the other day, when my phone bill came.. it was very low. I was so proud of myself. It was about 60 pounds (O2 line).. That’s relatively low, considering it used to be much much higher (adding both the phone lines.. the highest peak was 470, excluding the houseline). I obviously decided to tell my parents of what I had achieved.. they started yelling. And they also threatened to bring me back to Penang to study! Then that sparked off the ‘your fees are very high, we have no money’ talk.

They said that they had friends in the UK who don’t pay for their children’s university fees... But their kids work while studying to pay for the fees. Fine. I don’t mind doing that. But logically, it’s impossible. The first two years of medical school would be about 13000 pounds per annum, fees alone, living expenses excluded. And for the next four years, it would be about 23000 pounds per year. Locals pay about 4000 MAXIMUM? I think, I’m not too sure. Sigh. I wish there was something I could do to ease my parents’ burden. Supporting two kids in medical school in London is a pretty shit thing. But if I work part time, what can I do? At most, I’ll get about what, 7 pounds an hour, how many years would I have to work if I wanted to help pay my fees? And also, fine I might be able to pay for my food maybe. Hmm.. it’s a thought actually.

What do you think? Should I work?

hmmm..
try working. i think it might be fun.
my sis is working n dat was cos my mom was screaming for her to get a part-time job d.
n she sed it makes her feel liberated, haha, cos den she won't feel so guilty. at least she's doing sumthin to help out financially. so yea. n her job is fun-just juice stuff. n gets like 15aussie per hour, n she's made tons of friends there. so the benefits r like cash, free juice and friends. haha.
jez try it out. no harm. if it gets to heavy. quit.
